Louis-Victor Revillon started establishing the notoriety of the Revillon Company in 1839 when he decided to buy a leather counter company established since 1723 by Mr. François Givelet, in Paris 159, rue St. Honoré. From that time, Louis-Victor Revillon has followed his own conviction: “elegance needs the most precious fabrics and furs”. The Revillon saga has been built around an endless search of furs, leather, silk and cashmere magnificence and optimal quality. For that goal Revillon Company reached Boukhara for its astrakhans, Siberian countries to hunt Zibeline,   Foxes and Hermines, Scandinavia for its Minks and North Canada to bring back Marmots, Martens, Lynxes and Pecans. From the polar circle to the Far East lands, Revillon counters bought the nicest and most precious furs, transported them to the ports where Revillon boats shipped them to Paris. Here are the mile stones of what Mr. Louis-Victor Revillon and his “descendants” have established.
