Cav Empt is a Japanese based streetwear label with London flavoured influences, launched by iconic Japanese designer sk8thing and Toby Feltwell whose career began in the music industry where he worked for UK labels Mo' Wax and XL while simultaneously studying law. His love for Japanese culture led him into fashion and a long-time collaboration with Bathing Ape founder Nigo, as well as the creation of Pharrell Williams' clothing line, Billionaire Boys Club. Feltwell struck up a friendship with Bathing Ape's lead designer, Sk8thing, and the pair created Cav Empt in 2012. Named after the latin legal jargon, Caveat Emptor “let the buyer beware”, Cav Empt injects graphic heavy designs into reinterpreted menswear classics with relevant social commentaries.
